Lots of our guest are coming back... to the resort and to the Backpacker Deluxe Hotel Capricorn... we are not a designed hotel or accomodation place but we are cosy and try to create a familiar atmosphere for our guests, i.e. you always have free tea, bring your own beverages and use our open WLAN and free internet station.

Hostel

The old Hotel Capricorn was one of the first hotels in the area… since 2002 it is managed and owned by August “Guschti” Poltera, a founder of the swiss backpackers association and local ski and snowboard instructor, raftguide and freaky mountain biker. The Hostel lays on a sunny mountain terrasse of 1100 m.a.s.l. and has busy times in winter for skiing and snowboarding… summertime is not as busy but even more beautiful with our big range of high alpine summer activities.

Different rooms serve different needs in the hostel… most of them are equipped with private showers and toilets, cableTV and all are able to book on shared base. You have always free tea, a free internet station and WLAN on most areas and the tap water in the hostel is revitalized with the GRANDER water system. We serve daily breakfast and have a daily vegetarian diner at night. Our musicbar “caprilounge” is all day open (only wintertime) and you can meet there locals and tourists from all over the world.

Location

The hostel is located on the mainroad (valley mainroad) between Laax-Murschetg and Laax-Village. There is a free local bus connecting the wide spread villages of Flims, Laax and Falera as well as the cable car main stations. The bus stop Laax-Marcau is only 100 meters from the hostel and serves local and public transport. By car you can reach us very easy over the mainroad Chur - Disentis/Sedrun.
