The Lausanne GuestHouse & Backpacker is a non smoking hostel ideally located in the very heart of Lausanne.
It offers single, double and 4-bedded rooms (dormitory). All rooms are facing the Lake Geneva, the Alps and the beautiful garden. The Lausanne GuestHouse & Backpacker is highly dedicated to preserving all ecological aspects of the community.

Hostel

80 beds (25 rooms): all rooms facing Lake Geneva and the Alps. The hostel offers 10 double or single rooms with private or sharing bathroom and 15 four bedded rooms (dormitory) with sharing bathrooms.
We don’t serve breakfast, but a full equipped kitchen and a friends hang out room is available for our clients. 5 high speed internet stations (ADSL) and WI-FI are available.

In summer a quiet garden with barbecue and grill is available too. We offer laundry facility (24 hours), luggage storage during the day, private lockers, private parking and mountain bike rental.

About us

The Lausanne Guesthouse opened in August 2001. The entire building (1894) has been renovated with “green” materials that respect nature while still keeping the end of the century architecture intact. Thermal panels have been installed on the roof in order to capture the sun’s heat to keep the water preheated for the bathrooms and also to supply the energy for the external lights. All these aspects and more comply with “Minergie” the strictest environmental quality standards of Switzerland.

Location

The Lausanne GuestHouse & Backpacker is ideally located in the very heart of Lausanne. Only 2 minutes walking distance from the train station CFF. All bars, restaurants, night entertainment, shops, art galleries and museums are within walking distance, too. Lake Geneva shore and boat trips are only a 15 minute walk, the world renown Olympic Museum is only a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride away.

Lausanne is also a good starting point for excursions like: the medieval Gruyères with its castle, cheese and chocolate factory, Château de Chillon, the glacier “Les Diablerets” and many other beautiful sites…..
