At first sight you fall in love with this sleepy mountain village of about 95 people. No cars, no TV, no newspapers, not even a food store, but many cows and plenty of cheese. The only way to get there is by hiking or taking a cable car.
It's a different world: a million-dollar view, great people at the mountain hostel, friendly locals, the perfect atmosphere, no worries.
It is extremely hard to leave.

Hostel
The Mountain Hostel is the hostel in Europe with breathtaking views. Hiking in the mountains, communal dinners (amazing meals and great company!), waking up in the morning and see cows. Listen to people playing guitars in the evening, enjoy local yodelling - a true Swiss entertainment, rake hay with local farmers, and simplybreathe the air of the Alps.
These are only a few of the things you can experience. During amazing hikes wonderful flowers as well as wild animals like marmots and chamois will leave unforgettable memories for a lifetime.
You can check in, but maybe you can never leave!
Prices: 25 swiss francs per person per night in dorm rooms. No private rooms. Free entrance to the swimmingpool in Mürren.

Catch the train from Interlaken Ost, change to the Postbus at Lauterbrunnen and enjoy the cable car ride from Stechelberg up the cliffs to Gimmelwald.You find us right next to the cable car stop at Gimmelwald.
